TWO AUDIENCES

One website. Two audiences.

HUMAN WEB

  • Navigation
  • Brand
  • Images
  • Landing pages
  • Forms

AI WEB

  • Structured content
  • Machine-readable documentation
  • Metadata and schemas
  • APIs and MCP
  • Permissions and provenance

The strongest websites serve both.

Prepare for the Agentic Web

Future agents may compare providers, retrieve documentation and use approved services. Sourceprint helps you prepare without assuming every machine interaction should be open or monetized.

Machine-content monetization is emerging. AAS does not promise crawler revenue, and not every organization should charge machine users.

EVIDENCE WITH LIMITS

Observable signals. Clear limits.

  • Every real finding is based on an observable technical condition.
  • Results are point-in-time observations.
  • AAS does not guarantee placement, recommendation, citation or ranking by any AI system.
  • Unknown or irrelevant checks are labeled Unable to Verify or Not Applicable.
  • AI platforms and voluntary machine conventions change continuously.

Questions

What is Sourceprint?

Sourceprint is AAS's view of the machine-readable identity your website publishes. It examines whether AI systems can find your authoritative pages, extract clear meaning, trust your business identity, understand access rules and discover permitted documentation or actions.

Is this the same as SEO?

No. SEO focuses primarily on search discovery and ranking. Sourceprint focuses on whether AI assistants and agents can retrieve, interpret and use accurate business information. The disciplines overlap, but Sourceprint is designed around machine readability and agent readiness.

Can AI systems understand my current website?

Often partially. An AI system may find the page but miss important meaning hidden in visual layout, scripts, images or inconsistent business information. A Sourceprint Snapshot identifies what can be observed and clearly labels anything that cannot be verified.

What is llms.txt?

llms.txt is an emerging, voluntary convention for pointing AI systems toward useful and authoritative website content. Support is not universal, and it does not control every crawler, but it can make preferred sources easier for compatible systems to discover.

Can I control AI crawler access?

You can publish rules and preferences through robots.txt, named crawler directives, Content Signals and related controls. Compliance varies by operator, and training, retrieval and citation are not always governed by the same mechanism. AAS helps make your intended access position explicit.

Can websites charge AI crawlers?

Paid machine access is an emerging capability for some proprietary data, research, APIs and archives. It is not appropriate for every website, and AAS does not promise crawler revenue. Public marketing information may remain more valuable when broadly accessible.

What does AAS change and monitor?

AAS may improve canonical identity, structured data, source-of-truth pages, documentation, crawler rules, Markdown delivery, APIs and MCP discovery. Monitoring can track access, freshness, answer accuracy, citations and material changes using an agreed methodology.
